I fished with Alex & his friend for a half day on Lake St-Louis today & had a tough time getting into the fish. To say the conditions were tough would be an understatement! The ride up the lake was rough with an east wind of about 20 knots interfering with the western current direction. This created a terrible chop and about three footers. We had to fish quite slowly to get the few bites that we received. By actually seeing some of the smallmouth swimming around and just how big they were, didn’t help matters. Senko’s & tube baits managed to take about 10 fish in a four-hour period and a few others were lost as well. The air temps were in the low 60’s but the water temps dropped due to the cold northeast winds that we experienced during the last few days. Not the best day, but considering the conditions, not too bad either!
