Scott & Chris had another unbelievable day on the water today capturing enough fish for more grand slams. They both boated walleye, pike, bass and a few sturgeon. What started out with a troll for the eyes, switched to casting for bass and eventually spot locking for sturgeon. The weather even changed a few times and went from a NE wind and overcast skies to no wind and bright sunshine. Regardless, we got it done, in spades! Great fishing all around and they even left with several keeper sized walleye!

Rob, Tim & Garnit joined me today for another spectacular day of fishing! They all managed grand slams, capturing 4 different species of fish. The morning saw plenty of pike & walleye, trolling vast areas and some of them were quite big. They were able to put a limit of high-end keeper eyes in the boat as well as releasing many overs. The afternoon saw a mix of bass and a few sturgeon with each of them landing a giant. We finished off the day by dropshotting deeper water where they once again all landed smallmouth.

Today was a picture perfect one, with just enough wind from the SW to keep everyone cool on this scorcher day. The great fishing didn’t hurt either as everyone landed plenty of quality fish!!

Pierre had fished against me in many tournaments in the past, but today we were sharing the same boat. He booked a day out, several weeks back and was looking to get into a bunch of fish. I knew he wouldn’t be disappointed!

We headed on the water early in a strong SE wind that was supposed to increase throughout the day. Fortunately, we were going to the south side and at least would be able to fish. We would deal with the big waves later!

With reels in, we began the troll and it didn’t take long before the first one fired. He landed a good keeper walleye and it went into the livewell immediately. Hopefully we would be able to add a few more too!

The morning went by fast with so many fish coming aboard. He was able to put two more good fish in the livewell while all the others were too big and released. One of them was even a huge 28-inch fish and the biggest one he had caught in quite some time! Along with all the walleye, there were also plenty of pike landed and released, without any pics taken.

We decided to move on to bass and spent the afternoon targeting them. Shallow rock flats and soft plastics were used to land plenty of these and a few of them were quality sized ones too! I even caught a few and one huge drum, while fishing the same areas for bass!

We had fished several areas throughout the afternoon and finished on the most productive one. After landing a few more bass, we called it a day. I knew the run back would be a rough one and packed everything down for the ride. It wasn’t until we were about half way back that it got really bad and the last half mile or so was the worse. The winds were blowing from the south and 3-foot rollers were the norm. The boat handled the waves fine but unfortunately one of the big waves caused the passenger seat to come down harder than usual and the smooth moves base let go. It actually broke somehow when it bottomed out. Looks like I’ll be contacting the company soon!

Today was a great day, right up until the end with the seat issue. It was like a blast from the past having Pierre on the boat. For many years we had competed against each other in bass tournaments and today we just relaxed. Lots of laughs and plenty of fish made the day go by quickly and before we knew it, we were parting ways. Hopefully we’ll do this again soon and enjoy another day reminiscing about old times and catching many more fish of course. This was definitely a great day for fishing!!

Evan & Sydney joined me today for another great day of fishing! This was an overdue Father’s Day gift and they couldn’t have asked for a better day. Temps were going to get into the 80’s and we had a great wind to start the morning off. It didn’t take long for me to locate an area holding good fish and many walleye and pike were landed. Most of the walleye were overs, but they did manage to reel in several good keepers too! I live welled a few of the larger keepers for them as they continued to land fish.

The afternoon saw a different approach when the wind laid down. I decided to fish a little deeper in search of a dropshot bite for both bass & walleye. Several more fish came aboard in the remaining hours of the day and they learned another technique as well before we were done.

Today was filled with plenty of action and lots of fish for Evan and Sydney to fight. They saw just how effective the troll could be and how to finesse non active fish when the bite slowed down. Overall, this was a productive and learning kind of day! I’m sure I’ll see them again in the near future for more hands-on learning and catching of course!!

After several days of cancellations due to high winds and bad weather, I was finally back on the water today! Alex was from the UK and in on business, looking to do some fishing. His schedule only allowed him the luxury of an afternoon trip, but managed to get to the docks by 11:00 am. We were fishing about 15 minutes later and catching small northerns. He managed to get into walleye and pike from the first area before we attempted to try for sturgeon.

The water level had increased with all the rain we had lately and also muddied up considerably. He was able to land one fish after losing another and was happy to tick this from his bucket list!

Our last area was a big flat and we were dropshotting the rocks hoping for both bass and walleye. In the remaining 30 minutes there were a couple landed and a few others missed or lost on their way to the boat.

Today passed by quickly with a half day trip but Alex was happy nonetheless! He got to catch a few new species in Canada that he never could have imagined. I only hope his work brings him back again and that we can continue where we left off, looking for a few new species to catch!
