    Last Minute Rally

Darren & Howard were with me today but the conditions were extreme with the high winds. I had gone out earlier this morning to check and see if it was doable and bounced around plenty. By the time they arrived at 9:30 it had let up slightly and switched direction. We managed to catch several bass, pike and walleye but it was slow for most of the trip. The last 90 minutes however had them constantly into one fish after another. Bass & walleye were coming aboard on the drop shot rigs hand over fist! I guess you could say that they finished with a bang!

    Kids Rock

This day was split into two with a morning trip as well as another in the afternoon. I started on one waterway with a group of 4 kids and one adult trolling for pike, walleye and a few bass. Flat calm conditions made it tough with all the floating vegetation but we still managed to catch. All the kids were happy taking turns on pike, bass & walleye and even took a few home for their dinner tonight. Walleye would be on the menu freshly caught by them!

    Split Day (part 2)

The afternoon trip had me transferring waters and going back into Montreal for another large group. This time I had 4 people aboard and the weather was a carbon copy of the day before. The only difference was that we had some wind and it was almost bearable. Once again, the numbers of missed and lost fish were insane. I think today less than 10% actually came to the net for some quick pics. For never having fished before at least they all caught a few smallmouth and walleye!

    Change of Scenery

I had another group of three today for a slightly different trip. I had to travel into Montreal and join up with a friend for a group of 7 charter with two boats. We fished for smallmouth all day and Danial and the others managed to land about 10% of the fish they hooked. They had high numbers of bass on too! I don’t know if it was the almost 100 degree weather or what but it was tough all around. Thank god for the bimini top! Summer is officially upon us now for sure!

    John & Frank

John & Frank fished with me today and we caught just about everything that swims. From bass & pike to walleye and channel cats, they all bit. A short report but plenty of fish were landed and a few Walters were harvested for the grill! We even saw the same leech trying to fish another area we were on again. It’s only a matter of time before it escalates into something more!
