Quebec Fishing Reports
Giant North West WindsJune 20, 2022
Louis and his party of four joined me this morning for an excellent 4 hours of fishing. It was nonstop action as we trolled up plenty of fish in the time we were out. Unfavourable winds out of the NW had us fishing in big waves all morning and the run back to pick up my afternoon guys wasn’t pleasant either. I had contemplated on fishing elsewhere for the remainder of the day but decided otherwise once we did the switch!
Butch & Marty spent their time landing many more fish as they both boated plenty of quality pike & walleye. Unfortunately the conditions hadn’t changed and we trolled in big wind and waves the entire time. Oh well, at least the fish were biting!
Rock & RollJune 18, 2022
Maryse and Steph picked a not so perfect day to join me for fishing today. Giant winds out of the west had me settling for an area to start. Running to it wasn’t pretty either as the waves were easily 3 footers!
We spent all morning scouring different sections and managed to pick at the fish pretty good, despite the unfavourable conditions. Sometime early afternoon we switched from a troll and I had them casting for smallies. They had plenty of chances and managed to land a good number of average sized bass.
Our run back at the end of the day was less than pleasant once again and I think it was even worse than the morning. We were going with the wind and the rollers were pretty big! We managed to make it back and stay dry and that’s all that counted on this not so nice day. At least it was warm and sunny!
Perfect ConditionsJune 15, 2022
Robert & Mark spent the day with me and what a day it was! The weather was absolutely spectacular with sunshine throughout. Although the afternoon brought some clouds, they were a welcomed addition with the heat & humidity. The fishing was also good, but we had to work for them! I covered plenty of water to get the bites we did but the numbers and size were great! For the first time this season, I actually found water temps that made it up to 70 degrees!
Both pike & walleye were landed today and some of them were quite large. In fact there were more overs than keepers brought in the boat. We may not have had crazy fishing like I usually see for this time of year, but it was consistent! We caught them up, all day long! Great times were had by all today!
A Family OutingJune 13, 2022
Darren joined me today, along with part of his family. His two sons bailed on the family day but his wife Grace and daughter Lilly Belle were more than happy to come fishing. They would be spending the better part of the morning before I had to drop them back off at the dock for afternoon commitments.
Plenty of pike and several good walleye were landed in the 3.5 hours they were in the boat. Although the fish were a little inactive, I managed to grind out enough action for all to enjoy.
Our afternoon was spent searching out new areas and Darren landed more pike & walleye from each place we hit. Most of the fish seemed to be slightly larger than the morning’s catch and he even left with a limit of walleye for them to enjoy. Overall today was a great one as the weather held out the entire time we were out. What was supposed to be a wet afternoon, turned out to be hot, humid and dry. We couldn’t have asked for anything more!
Double TimeJune 11, 2022
Amelia her family joined me this morning and their son Adam had a blast! At only 7 years old he fought fish line a veteran! He managed to battle one pike after the other in hopes of finally catching a walleye. His mother eventually took a turn and you guessed it, she boated a nice over. Lady luck shined!
This afternoon I had another trip and headed out with Jo-Ann and her husband Adam. They were in from Ontario and despite a slow start, finally managed to get a bunch of fish. For several hours they caught a mix of pike, walleye perch and a lost smallouth bass. In fact, they were able to almost bring a limit of keepers home with them! Another bunch of happy campers today!
