Stephan, Christine & Dan fished with me today. They were looking forward to catching some walleye and Dan opened it up within the first two minutes. The winds were pretty big and it made for a great drift for all three of them. A little coaching had them hooking fish after fish and everyone was getting in the game. Christine even learned how to pitch the baits in close quarters aiding in her hookups! Eventually after many fish, the bite slowed enough for me to relocate and change to another species. I put the fear of god into them when I showed them the size of these beasts. To make matters worse, I let them watch a video of one of the recent battles. I don’t know if they were more excited or scared to hook into one but they were definitely all nervous! In the next couple of hours they had several chances but kept missing the fish. In the end, Christine was the one that overcame it all and landed an absolute beast. Definitely bragging rights and well deserved. I think I will be seeing them again and soon!

Hi had three of his grand kids out today and they were all looking forward to catching some fish. I made the offer and we headed straight for the big dogs! Although a little slower than I had hoped for, we did manage to hook into three of them only to have all three pull off during the battle. The kids had no previous fishing experience and had a difficult time keeping the line tight causing plenty of slack in the line. At least they got to experience just how hard they fight! We spent the remainder of the day fishing walleye and they all hooked up several times. Walleye, bass & pike were caught and a few of the Walters were taken home for their dinner. Although a tough day, still productive for the novice fishermen!

Yossi and his friend joined me today for another repeat bloodbath. We fished sturgeon early and were able to land a couple of good ones with several others pulling off. Afternoon saw me teaching them how to fish soft plastics and control the drift on tight lines for walleye. Neither of them had fished in 25 years and very limited at that. Once they caught on, they were both able to catch plenty of quality eyes before we called it a day. Might just see them back sometime soon after today’s outing!

Alyssa had a birthday today, so what a better way to spend it than fishing! We headed straight for the sturgeon and were hooked up quickly. She battled a few small fish but had several tug of wars with some beasts too. The afternoon saw us fishing for walleye as she hoped to take a few home to eat. Not a problem to get her a limit. Many of them fell victim to the presentations we used and we released plenty of the larger ones in the process. Another great Birthday!

Phil & Ari joined me today for an incredible day of walleye fishing. Despite the dead calm, bluebird sky & unbearable heat wave we experienced, they pounded on them pretty good. Not what someone would associate with fishing for eyes! I had them dialed in and with the aid of electronics was able to put them right in the zones require to make this day a success. Several bass were also marked and caught as well when they appeared in the deep. With a little help, Ari was able to rebound from a difficult start and match his father almost fish for fish by afternoon! Totally awesome fishing!
