    Mix’n Em Up

I fished with Alain & Ben today on a couple of lakes. We started off fishing for lakers on a nearby lake and caught a couple up to 5 pounds. By 11:30 we took off & headed to lake Memphremagog for smallmouth bass. Every spot we fished, we caught fish. The water temps had gone down on both lakes by about 2 or 3 degrees due to the cold. NNW winds we had lately. Today never warmed up past 48 degrees. There was plenty of sunshine, but it remained cold throughout the entire day. The wind continued to blow from the same direction all day at 20 to 25 knots making the conditions quite miserable. Jerk-baits & Fin-s jigs once again were the lures of choice as close to 75 bass were caught & released in about 6 hours. All in all, a great day!

    A Rough Laker Day

I fished with Andre & Jin again today, but this time for Lake Trout. The weather took a turn for the worse as the temperatures fell to almost zero overnight. To make matters worse, the winds were from the north at 15 to 25 MPH. The water temps fell to about 41degreees in the warmest places. In the first fifteen minutes, there were 2 lakers caught. It took several hours to get another and quite some time later to get a fourth. The wind really made a mess of all the areas that we were going to fish during the day. We were lucky to get the fish that we did under these conditions. There were three-foot waves in the middle of the lake and gusts were making some waves even bigger. A tough, but rewarding day!

    Lots « O » Fish

I fished with Andre & Jim today on Lake Memphremagog. The morning air was 61 degrees & the cloud cover seemed like rain. The water temps were in the low 50’s & the wind was from the SS/W at 10 MPH. The first spot produced 12 fish and some over 4 pounds. We relocated to another area with Jerk-Baits and started to hammer smallmouth on almost every cast. The fish were active and situated in 12 to 20 feet of water off the deeper edges. We had to zig & zag because of the thundershowers, but missed all the rain & storms by doing so. By the days end, there were almost 100 bass & a bonus 8-pound laker taken on a Jerk-Bait. A definite great day by anyone’s standards!!

    A Great Day

I fished with Tony & Charlie today on Lake Memphremagog. What a beautiful day! The air temps reached nearly 80 degrees by the end. The water temperatures went up as high as .53 degrees in some places. We had a light wind of 5 to 10 miles from the SSW and a light chop on the water. This was the first day that the fish really hit the jerk-baits! The Fin-S jigs worked very well as usual! Just about everywhere we went, we caught fish, but the best areas were still deep water. We fished for almost 10 hours and caught over 75 smallmouth bass up to 4.5 pounds. No real huge fish today, but plenty of quality fish nevertheless. All in all, a great day to be on the water!

    A Sunny Day

I fished with Alain & Claude today on Lake Memphremagog. The weather started off like every other day, terrible. Fortunately, the clouds blew out and gave way to sunshine. The water warmed up to almost 50 degrees in certain areas and the air temps almost hit 70 degrees. We caught fish in the shallow water & deep as well. Fin-S & jerk-baits accounted for the 30 or 40 smallmouth bass today. It was nice to have warmer weather for a change! All in all, a great day!
